South Beach Miami
This client was an LA-based art dealer who needed a Miami Beach pad where he could live, exhibit art and entertain friends and clients. It needed to be a cosy space for one, but also able to accommodate up to 100 people for events.
The process involved stripping back the space to raw walls and ceiling, and suspending curtains to divide the space and suspend art works and lighting. A sheer curtain suspended from the ceiling on an oval track created a cosy, intimate space for the bedroom.
Atmosphere and character was created by incorporating a mix of contemporary furniture and antiques including 18th century, French gilt Chinoiserie mirror and silver candle sticks at the entrance. The palette was kept warm and neutral with luxurious fabrics and finishes, so as not to distract from the art when it was being exhibited.
